My Background

I graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Foreign Affairs/Politics and History.  I also earned a graduate certificate in Ports, Maritime, and Logistics Management from Old Dominion University.

Through several internships and positions in the maritime, intermodal, and logistics industries, I was introduced to the complex operations of the global supply chain and the movement of freight.  My work experiences exposed me to the industry’s use of computing to optimize the routing of cargo, enable secure communication with stakeholders, improve safety, and deploy next-generation vehicles and freight infrastructure. Through this, I recognized the vital link between computer science and the future of transportation.  The Align program is allowing me to gain an advanced technical skill set and a core understanding of technologies utilized by this field.

At a young age I discovered the joy of sailing and all things nautical.  Over the years I have continued to enjoy sailing and other outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, windsurfing and learning to kiteboard.

My Future

Acquire the computer and data processing skills that will allow me to pursue my desired career in logistics and supply chain operations.  I want to support exciting technologies that will improve efficiencies and further advance North American intermodal supply chain operations.
